KAK, trust me when I say it's a miracle anytime anything I plant in the ground actually grows-LOL. I had to pull up several of my French lavendar bushes because they got much bigger than anyone thought they would, but I kept one because they produce so much lavendar and I LOVE the way it smells in the summer when it mixes with the rosemary.

I chose the Spanish lavendar to replace them with because the flowers are a much deeper purple and show up better from the street than the blue/grey of the French. Check out this site for a really good, easy to follow break down between the different lavendars: http://www.mountainvalleygrowers.com/lavendercareandtips.htm

So, the difference between French and Spanish lavender is...sniffs? My black thumb and I are considering getting lavender to see if it can survive my better intentions. Is there anything for which I should look when picking a victim, er, plant?
