My night with David
(and the hundreds of other people in attendence, but that’s not really the point of what’s sure to be a flaming fangirl post, so I digress…)

So, my friend & I (whom I convinced to road trip with me) drove over to Little Rock, AR on Monday for the David Garrett concert. It was both of our first time attending one of his concerts and we were NOT dissappointed. David is a very talented musician and it showed in his performance Monday night. We had primo seats (3rd row, aisle- WOOT!), what I like to call “prime rushing the stage seats”. But, we decided we didn’t want to get arrested, so we behaved.
Now, time for the highlights of the evening… Well, the entire night was a highlight, especially dinner afterwards, but I promised David I wouldn’t talk about that…
Just kidding Mynfel, cos I know you’d drive down here and strangle me over that piece of innuendo
Now, on to the night. Dave & co played an impressive 21 songs:
Kashmir <– totally rocked, loved it
Beethoven’s 5th <– another excellent, high energy song to get it going
Live & Let Die
80′s Anthem
Smells Like Teen Spirit– think I was the only one in the audience that knew the words. Well, as much as one can know the words to this song- lol
Csardas- Gypsy Dance- my FAV song he covers. I got so excited hearing it, that I forgot I could video with my phone. So I only got a small piece of it here.
November Rain
Smooth Criminal
Beautiful Air <–LOVED this, truly a beautiful song
Walk This Way
Child’s Anthem
Rodrigo
Pirates of the Caribbean
Zorba’s Dance
Rock Symphony
A Led Zepplin song– cannot remember the title
Another song I didn’t get the title of
Master of Puppets
I’ll Stand By You
Rocking All Over the World
Encore: Hey Jude
Two songs that didn’t make the playlist, but would’ve made the night perfect are Claire du Lune and O mio Babbino Caro, but excellent show none the less.
After the concert, we were hanging back to let the theater clear when Marcus Wolf came out. I got the chance to meet him (he’s very nice) and chat a bit. (Woohoo) He also gave me a couple of his custom guitar picks, so ROCK ON!
After this, we headed over to the Meet & Greet were we got the chance to talk to David up close, take some pics, and get some autographs. I had a great time, but mostly all of my pics came out fuzzy. AND I don’t think I was looking at the professional photographer when she took our pic (because (1) I didn’t know she was over there taking pics & (2) she didn’t try to get my attention…)
But all in all, a good night.
Oh, here’s a pic of a little of the swag I brought back: an autographed M&G ticket (I also got a poster and cd signed) and the guitar picks from Marcus Wolf (I love his logo by the way)
