Random Musings
Fresh back from the Colts vs. Titans game this past Sunday. Unfortunately, my boys (the Colts) lost ;-( ; but fortunately I had a BLAST.
Anyone that knows even a little bit about me knows I LOVE Peyton Manning, I was disappointed he couldn’t play, but he was in the building, so I was cool beans! And YES, I did wear my Peyton jersey and YES I was the only one adamantly cheering for the Colts. To say I was in the minority is an understatement. Trust me, I heard it the entire game, thankfully it was all in fun
So without further ado, here are a few of my fav pics from the game. And yes, they are heavily slanted towards the Colts
:

Repping!!

Warming up

Game ball delivery

Unfortunately, about the closest we got to the end zone...

TSU rocking out during half time

Painter running for it
So after a while of just random picture taking, I FOUND PEYTON!!! Let the stalking from a distance begin

All in all, great trip and a great game. Looking forward to the next one

Foodie Reports
I’m fresh off a trip to Decatur, GA for a writer’s convention. Had a wonderful time, as always, with the ladies–and gentlemen– of GRW. Now, on to the food and beverage report.
First up, the Brick Store. We loved this place as much for it’s atmosphere as for it’s food. Both were excellent. The Brick Store has a true pub vibe with a lot of character. I fell in love with the decor and our super friendly and knowledgeable waiter/bartender.

Close of of the front door

The view from upstairs

Our table top- made of wine crates
Once we got upstairs, we noticed the eclectic style going on. We settled on it being a mix of steampunk and pirate-lol. Sounds odd, but such a good description:

Loved the bar taps

The walls were doors

Funny little lamp in one of the corners

Like coming in from the sky light in the more "piratey" part of the bar
Now, on to the food (which was EXCELLENT):

Fish & chips-- THE best

Yum

Brunswick stew

Homemade candy bar (which is technically from Leon's)
I asked our waiter about desserts (of course) and he pointed out one of the neighboring restaurants actually had one of the best things he’d ever tasted before, a homemade candy bar. So while we were waiting for our checks to come, we made plans to go to Leon’s to get one. But our waiter surprised us when he came back with one for us! Yes, he ran next door and got us a candy bar. Did I mention he was the best!!
Not only was our waiter very knowledgeable about the food and the area, he also knows a TON about beverages. If you told him what you liked, he could recommend something. He introduced us to Basil Hayden and Allagash. Both are quite excellent. I’m not much of a whiskey drinker at all, but that Basil Hayden is some good stuff. Very smooth, nice taste and very nice finish. But I wanted a beer with my lunch. I was looking for Blue Moon, but they didn’t have any. So Allagash White was my recommendation. Very good.

So, this sums up lunch at the Brick Store
. Oh, after the Maggie awards and party, the girls and I headed back over to the Brick Store for a snack and a cocktail. Let me tell you, they made a bourbon caramel with roasted pecans and nuts. And they make it fresh to order. SOOOOO GOOOOD
